BLT Recipe Tips
When making this baked chicken BLT, here are a few tips to make sure it turns out delicious:
- While you can enjoy this recipe any time of year, it’s best when the tomatoes are in season. A firm, sweet summer tomato will make all the difference in the end-result for this sandwich.
- Use caution when taking the bacon out of the oven. The bacon grease will drip into the pan while it bakes and will be really hot.

Recipe Details
Bake the Chicken and Bacon
To get this recipe started, turn the oven on to 400°F and set out a couple baking sheets. Line one of the baking sheets with aluminum foil and set a wire rack on the inside. Place the strips of bacon onto the wire rack, ensuring none of the strips hang off the side.
On the second tray, place the halved chicken breasts that are seasoned with olive oil, a pinch of black pepper, and a ranch seasoning packet. Rub the seasoning into both sides of the chicken breast to evenly coat it.
Place the two baking sheets in the oven and bake until the chicken is cooked through and the bacon is crisp. About 20 minutes in total. Once baked, removed both sheet pans from the oven and squeeze half a lemon over the chicken.
While the chicken and bacon are in the oven, you can toast the buns if you’re interested. Cut the buns in half and place them cut side down in a pan. Turn the pan onto medium and let them toast for a few minutes.

Build the BLT’s
To assemble these BLT’s, add a tablespoon of ranch dressing to the bottom buns. Use the spoon to spread the ranch to each end of the bun. Place one of the baked chicken breasts on each bun, followed by the followed by bacon slices, tomato slices, and lettuce. Add the top bun to each sandwich and enjoy!
Serve with a couple napkins (as these can be a bit messy) with a side of potato salad or chips for a perfect dinner!
