Ranch Snack Mix Recipe Tips
When you make this baked snack mix, here are a few tips to make sure it’s delicious:
- When mixing up the ranch butter, be sure to pour it over the cracker mixture quickly. Otherwise, the seasoning may begin to clump. If you do have clumps, don’t fret! Use a spoon, a silicon spatula, or your fingers to break up the pieces and distribute them across the mixture.
- If you like an extra tangy ranch flavor, search for the buttermilk-style ranch seasoning mixture. The buttermilk adds a subtle, zesty, extra layer of flavor that I love! You can buy packages on Amazon at this link.

Do Some Prep
The best part of this recipe is how simple it is. All it takes is a couple of bowls, a spoon, and a baking tray. To get started, the first steps are to preheat the oven to a low temperature and to set out a large baking tray. In a large bowl, mix the cheese crackers, mini pretzels, and square rice cereal until they’re evenly distributed. Set this bowl aside while you mix the ranch butter.
Make the Ranch Butter
To make the ranch butter, whisk the melted unsalted butter with a package of dry ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried dill. Once the ranch butter is made, immediately pour it into the bowl with the cracker mixture. Toss the crackers in the ranch butter, coating every piece with a bit of the butter and seasoning,
Bake and Serve
Pour the butter-coated snack mix onto the prepared baking tray. Bake the snack mix for twenty minutes, stirring them halfway through to ensure they bake evenly. Once the ranch butter has baked into the crackers, remove the tray from the oven and let the mix cool on the tray. The mixture may be slightly oily when you first take it out of the oven, but it will continue to bake slightly on the tray as you let it cool. Store the ranch snack mix in an air-tight container for up to a week at room temperature.
