Instant Party

A party is barely a party without buffalo chicken dip, right? This buffalo chicken dip sliders recipe takes those immediate party vibes and stuffs them into the other best party app: a slider sandwich. Each buffalo chicken dip slider is built between two halves of a sweet Hawaiian roll and layered with a bit of deli ham and cheddar cheese to round out the flavors and then topped with ranch butter before it gets baked to crisp on the outside, melty on the inside perfection.

I imagine these sandwiches are going to be a perfect addition for all of your game-day tailgates, Friday night get-togethers, and movie nights in. They’re easy to pull together, simple for sharing with a crowd, and so delicious people will be asking for more.

Buffalo Chicken Pull-apart Slider Recipe Tips

When you make these buffalo chicken Hawaiian roll sliders, here are a few tips to make sure they’re delicious:

  • If you’re looking to keep this recipe simple, my favorite option is to buy a rotisserie chicken, or even just a rotisserie chicken breast if your grocery sells them separately, and shred them right when you get home while it’s still relatively warm. They’re so easy to shred and are packed with tons of delicious flavor.
  • To soften the cream cheese faster, cut it into cubes and let it sit in the mixing bowl for a few minutes. Not only will it come to room temperature sooner, It will also be much easier to mix into the dip in the smaller pieces.
  • For easier serving, I recommend using a sharp knife to cut the sliders into individual sandwiches. It makes it much easier to grab an individual sandwich and go.

Get Started with Some Prep Work

Before you can begin assembling these sandwiches, there’s a bit of pre work to do. Once you start preheating our oven and get a baking tray set out, you can start mixing the buffalo chicken dip and the ranch butter.

To whip up the buffalo chicken dip, you’ll mix room temperature cream cheese, hot sauce (I prefer Frank’s Red Hot Original flavor), and your favorite buttermilk ranch dressing together until they are evenly combined, using a silicone spatula to blend the cream cheese in as much as you can. If there are a few chunks of cream cheese left that is just fine. Stir the shredded chicken into the cream cheese mixture and your buffalo chicken dip is ready! Set the bowl of dip aside and make the ranch butter. Melt unsalted butter in a small bowl or liquid measuring cup and then stir in a packet of dry ranch seasoning. You can typically find these in the salad dressing section of major grocery stores. Stir the seasoning and the butter together to incorporate the mixtures into one and then set aside.

Assemble the Sliders

Now that your prep work is done, you can begin assembling the sandwiches. Take each of your loaves of Hawaiian rolls and cut them in half hamburger style, keeping the tops and the bottoms intact. Set the bottom halves of the loaves onto your baking tray and add a layer of the deli ham, letting them overlap slightly so that each bite is guaranteed to get a bit of ham.  Spoon the buffalo chicken mixture over the top of the ham, using the back of the spoon to spread the dip from edge to edge of each set of Hawaiian rolls. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the dip and place the tops of the rolls over the entire thing. Slowly pour the ranch butter over the tops of the rolls, letting the butter and seasoning pool in the crevices of each roll and come over the sides.

Bake and Serve

Bake the buffalo chicken Hawaiian roll sliders in the oven until the insides are melty and the tops of the sandwiches have crisped up from the ranch butter. Let the sliders cool on the tray for a few minutes and then transfer them to a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut through the sandwiches along each defined roll for easier serving. These sandwiches are best served right away, but if you need to reheat them do so on a pan in a low-heat oven until the centers have become melty again.

I hope you love these sandwiches as much as I do!  Enjoy!

Description

Perfect for parties, these buffalo chicken dip sliders are made for sharing. Sweet Hawaiian-style rolls layered with deli ham, homemade buffalo chicken dip, and cheddar cheese, and then drizzled with ranch butter before getting baked, these sliders are crisp, cheesy, and a bit spicy.

Ingredients

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and set out a large baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  2. Use a silicone spatula to mix the cream cheese, buttermilk ranch dressing, hot sauce, and shredded chicken together in a large bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, melt the butter and mix in the dry ranch dressing seasoning. Set aside.

Build the Sandwich

  1. Slice the entire loaf (or loaves) of Hawaiian bread rolls in half, keeping the two layers intact.

  2. Place the bottom half of the rolls onto the large baking tray.

  3. Arrange the ham in a single layer on top of the rolls. Then spoon the buffalo chicken dip over the top of the ham, using a spoon or silicone spatula to spread the dip to each edge of the rolls.

  4. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top of the chicken lip dip and then place the top half of the rolls on top of the sandwich.

  5. Pour the ranch butter over the top of the sandwich rolls, letting it pour over the sides.

  6. Bake the buffalo chicken dip sliders for 15 minutes in the oven, until the cheese is melted and the tops of the buns have crisped up.

  7. Remove from the oven and let the sliders cool on the pan for 5 minutes. Transfer the sandwiches to a cutting board and use a sharp knife to slice along the rolls to create individual sliders. Serve and enjoy!
