A Great Way to Start the Day

I love to start my day with a smoothie on the side of my breakfast. They’re so refreshing and a great way to sneak in some extra vitamins from the fruit and veggies, like in my Bright Pink Raspberry Beet Smoothie. I’m particularly a fan of using mango in my smoothies because I love the flavor!  This mango carrot smoothie in particular is packed with vitamin C from the mango and oranges, perfect for a boost during cold season. Carrot juice is one of my favorites, so I thought why not add a bit of it to balance out the citrus flavor of the orange and add in another layer of nutrients.

This smoothie is so balanced and a perfect smoothie for starting your day. Replace your morning glass of OJ with one of these and you won’t want to go back!

Recipe Tips

When you make this orange carrot mango smoothie, here are a few tips to make sure they’re delicious:

  • When shopping for carrot juice, look for a juice in the fresh pressed section of your grocery store. They’ll be lower in added sugar and have a purer carrot taste!
  • If you like a runnier smoothie, reduce the amount of ice you add to the blender and add an extra tablespoon of milk. It will make a juicier smoothie than a thicker one.
  • I love to use local honey in my smoothies and encourage you to do so too if you can!  Not only are you supporting local beekeepers, the flavor tends to be much nicer and will be made from pollen local to your environment. If you struggle with seasonal allergies, having a bit of honey made from local pollen can help ease your allergy symptoms over time!
  • If you want to make this smoothie vegan or plant-based, substitute the honey for agave syrup and use a plant-based milk.
