Description

A homemade stracciatella cheese recipe to use as a dip on its own, as a topping for pizza, or as a base for roasted tomatoes or garlic.

Ingredients
    Stracciatella Cheese
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, torn into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • pinch of kosher salt
  • Drizzle of olive oil
  • Flaky sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Crusty bread
Instructions
    Start the Stracciatella
  1. 1

In a small mixing bowl, add the torn pieces of mozzarella, heavy cream, and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine the ingredients, cover the bowl, and set in the refrigerator. Let sit for at least 4 hours or up to overnight.

  2. Finish the Stracciatella
  3. 2

If desired, use a fine mesh sieve to strain off any additional liquid for a thicker consistency. Transfer the stracciatella to a bowl and taste. Adjust the salt level, if desired! Top with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of flaky salt and enjoy with a slice of crusty bread.
