Apple Cider Kentucky Mule

Apple Cider Kentucky Mule

Spice, Spice, Baby

I am that basic woman who loves Fall.  I’m all about the candles, the spicy flavors, cuddling up on the couch in a sweater with a chunky blanket - give me it all!  I have no shame on the matter.  When September hits and the apples are fresh I’m always vying to integrate the crisp, sweet fruit into every meal.  It’s so versatile I'll add it to my breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinners, and of course drinks of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike, like this apple cider Kentucky mule. Adding apple cider to our Kentucky Mules is something my fiance Matt and I started a few years back and, let me tell you, I dream of the combination.  I’m not usually one to opt for a bourbon drink, but add some spicy apple cider and the fizz of ginger beer and I’ll be one happy gal. To me, this is the perfect cocktail for September.  It’s so refreshing for those warm, end-of-summer days but adds in the cinnamon, ginger, and apple flavors you’re excited to dive-in to with the new season.

Apple Cider Kentucky Mule Recipe Details

The recipe is incredibly easy - no fancy drink equipment required! Just a mug, a stirrer, and a way to measure (though honestly it’s pretty easy to just eyeball it)! To your glass or mug, preferably a mug of the copper variety, add your ice, bourbon, and apple cider.  Give it a little stir to get everything blended well. Once stirred, fill the copper mug the rest of the way with ginger beer and garnish with apple slices for a festive look!  Serve this drink right away and enjoy‍ A quick tip, if you're looking a non-alcoholic option, this drink is easy to bring together and just as delicious without the bourdon. The combination of apple cider and ginger beer is an A-plus duo!
