Make the Ginger and Turmeric Sweetener
The first step to make a batch of ginger turmeric lemonade is to make the sweetener. To make the sweetener, pour the water, granulated sugar, peeled ginger, and peeled turmeric into a medium saucepan. Heat the saucepan over medium-high heat and warm the water. Stir it often, until the sugar dissolves completely. Usually, this takes about 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let the spices steep for another 5 minutes.
Make the Ginger Turmeric Lemonade
Strain the ginger and turmeric sweetener into a heat-proof container, discarding the ginger and turmeric root. Into a large pitcher, add the lemon juice, 4 cups water, the honey, and the ginger turmeric sweetener. Stir to combine everything together and serve the lemonade over ice. Enjoy with a loaded veggie and cheese sandwich!
